“Vivo’s Z series nestles between the premium X series and budget Y series of smartphones”
The Chinese handset maker Vivo is known for its camera and multimedia-centric smartphones. The brand enjoys an extensive network in India with both offline and online presence. Now, 91mobiles has exclusively learnt that the brand might soon launch a smartphone that will be an online-exclusive offering. It’s being speculated that the upcoming smartphone could be from the Z series, which means it will be a mid-range offering.
According to our industry sources, the brand is bringing the online-exclusive smartphone to compete with the likes of Realme. However, it’s not known at the moment which Z series smartphone brand is planning to launch in India. Speaking of which, the company recently launched the Vivo Z1i in China. The smartphone comes with a 6.25-inch full HD+ IPS display bearing an aspect ratio of 19:9. Powering the performance is a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, aided by an Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB of RAM. There is 128GB of storage on board, which can be increased up to 256GB through a microSD card.
In the imaging department, the Vivo Z1i comes with dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel shooters on the back and 16-megapixel selfie shooter. As for the software, the smartphone boots Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. There is a 3,260mAh battery inside to keep the show running. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. While it’s not yet known whether the Z1i could be the brand’s next offering in the country, but that could be a possibility. However, we advise you to take this bit of information with a pinch of salt for now.
