“Vivo Z1X will reportedly feature triple rear cameras with a 48MP primary sensor”
A new Vivo Z series smartphone is reportedly in the works, slated for a September launch. When 91mobiles reached out to Vivo India on this front, the company’s Director of Brand Strategy, Nipun Marya, confirmed it will be called Vivo Z1X and that it will be an online-only smartphone. However, there is no official launch date yet. The Vivo Z1X will be slightly more expensive than the Z1 Pro (review) that was launched in July at a price of Rs 14,990. Moreover, the Vivo Z1X has been called a more premium device with “aggressive pricing,” so we can expect it to cost between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000.
Marya said, “The Z1X will be the new entry in the Z series family, offering consumers a fully-loaded device with best-in-class features. The Z1 Pro has established itself as a consumer favourite in the sub-Rs 15,000, and we hope the Z1X will receive the same love from the online consumer in its respective segment.” He added, “With the Z1X, the consumer will receive multiple upgrades from the Z1 Pro and will see similar aggressive pricing coupled with category leading features. The Z1X will be the slightly more premium addition to the Z family, giving consumers more features than its predecessor.”
According to a report by SmartPrix, the Vivo Z1X will be launched in the first week of September and feature a triple rear cameras. The rear camera setup will be headlined by a 48MP sensor. An earlier report said the smartphone will feature an AMOLED screen and in-display fingerprint sensor. Unfortunately, nothing about the Vivo Z1X is known at the moment, but we should know more in the next couple of weeks.
Vivo Z1 Pro is the first phone under the Rs 15,000 price segment to feature a punch-hole design. It is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC with Adreno 616 GPU and sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display. It boots Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS skin on top and a massive 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging fuels the phone. The handset is available in three variants — 4GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 64GB, and 6GB RAM + 128GB onboard storage, which is further expandable via microSD card.
In terms of optics, the Vivo Z1 Pro rocks triple rear cameras consisting of a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary shooter and a 2MP depth unit for portrait shots. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. There is a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left spine, while the volume rockers and power on/off button are positioned on the right. The 3.5mm audio jack, micro-USB port and speaker grill are placed on the bottom.
