Vivo Z5 has been launched as the latest Z-series smartphone. The company took the wraps off the handset, which seems to be an iterative upgrade to the previously launched the Z5x smartphone, at an event in China. The Vivo Z5 is a mid-range smartphone with a Snapdragon 712 chipset ticking at its core. The Vivo Z5 also boasts of a Super AMOLED panel with dewdrop notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, a beefy battery cell, and triple rear cameras with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. There is also Vivo’s multi-turbo mode on board to enhance the phone’s overall performance.
Vivo Z5 price
The Vivo Z5 price in China is set at RMB 1,598 (about Rs 16,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The phone’s 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants, on the other hand, will set you back to RMB 1,898 (roughly Rs 19,000) and RMB 2,298 (approximately Rs 23,000), respectively. The handset comes in Aurora Illusion (gradient purple), Holographic Illusion (gradient light blue), and Bamboo Night Forest (dark green) colour options. There is no word on the Vivo Z5 India launch at the moment.
Vivo Z5 specifications
The Vivo Z5 ships with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a small cutout for selfie camera up top, which the company likes to call Halo notch. At the handset’s core lies the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 mobile platform that was launched earlier this year and packs eight Kryo 360 cores paired with Adreno 616 GPU. The phonemaker is being offered in three RAM and user-expandable storage configurations: 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB. The phone runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouchOS 9.1 out of the box.
In the camera department, the Vivo Z5 features a triple camera setup that comprises of a 48-megapixel f/1.79 primary sensor, 8-megapixel secondary shooter, and a 2-megapixel third snapper. The front camera gets a 32-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The entire setup is run by a whopping 4,500mAh with support for 22.5W fast charging support. Other features include an optical scanner underneath the display for biometrics and also supports facial recognition. The handset has the Jovi digital assistant onboard, USB Type-C port for charging, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
