“The new Vodafone Rs 299 recharge is for users who are more into calling than using data”
Vodafone has a new prepaid pack in its lineup. The telecom operator, which was merged with Idea last year, has announced a Rs 299 recharge that comes with 70-day validity and offers 3GB of high-speed data, 1000 text SMSes, and unlimited voice calls – local, STD and roaming calls. Notably, the 3GB 3G/4G data that the pack offers is not per day but instead for the entire validity.
The pack seems to be for consumers who use data cautiously and are more inclined towards voice calling. As reported by TelecomTalk, the new Vodafone Rs 299 prepaid pack comes with no talk time that means the voice calls are free. The pack has been pitched just below Vodafone’s Rs 399 prepaid pack that has 1GB data per day, 100 text messages for a day, and unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls for a period of 84 days to offer.
Lately, Vodafone has been on the prepaid pack launch frenzy. The telecom recently announced a new Rs 229 recharge for its subscribers in select circles. The recharge packs unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls, 2GB of 3G or 4G data every day, 100 free SMS a day, and 28 days validity. Apart from this, the company also introduced ‘Rs 16 filmy recharge’, which is a day’s pass for a gigabyte of 3G/4G data.
Even though the Vodafone Idea has the most number of subscribers in India, it happens to be losing customers. According to the latest Trai report, Vodafone Idea also lost around 14.5 million users. Meanwhile, its arch-rival Jio gained 9.4 million users in the month of March 2019.
