The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has a satin finish back and is lighter and slimmer than its predecessor. The design is a lot more subtle now and it also houses 341 customisable mini-LED lights on the back.

The 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED display on the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro supports 165Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. It is the smoothest scrolling we've experienced until now. Even the legibility under direct sunlight is good.

rear camera

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro features a 50MP+32MP+13MP triple camera system. The photos captured through all the cameras are consistent as they have natural colours and maintain shadows and contrasts. However, the lack of details is evident the moment you zoom into an image.

front camera

The 32MP front camera on the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro tries to mimic the primary camera's colour science. While the skin tones are mostly accurate, the camera tends to over-soften areas, resulting in lack of facial details.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and scores higher than other smartphones in the segment in benchmark tests. And, you won't encounter any lagging or stuttering issues in daily usgae.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro is a gaming smartphone and apart from getting the best SoC in 2024, it also features Air Triggers and supports external accessories like the AeroActive Cooler. Both these features aid heavily during gaming and the overall gaming experience is unmatched.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro runs a clean software experience based on Android 14. It comes with some AI features for productivity, gaming and photography. You won't face any problems with the UI.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro houses a 5,500mAh battery which lasts for around 10 hours in the PCMark battery test. In daily usage, the device easily lasts an entire day with moderate usage even on the highest settings.

Despite featuring 65W fast charging support, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro comes with a 30W charger. It takes 50 minutes to charge the device from 20% to 100% using the provided charger which is average at best.

If you want the best gaming phone which can also be used as a daily driver, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro is the perfect choice. It has all the bells and whistles of a gaming smartphone while maintaining a classy design.
