CMF Phone 1 Review in 10 Points

Design

The CMF Phone 1 features interchangeable back panels. It has screws which need to be unscrewed to remove the back panel and add accessories like kickstand, card holder or a lanyard. All the accessories and the back panels are sold separately.

display

The CMF Phone 1 has a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The colour calibration is a little boosted but the panel appears vibrant with deep blacks. The outdoor visibility is good but not the best.

rear camera

The CMF Phone 1 features a 50MP+2MP dual rear camera setup. The camera performance is decent in terms of details and sharpness but the colour accuracy is on point. The same cannot be said for low-light images.

front camera

The 16MP front camera on the CMF Phone 1 captures brighter selfies with warmer skin tones and sub-par detailing in comparison to other smartphones in the segment.

performance

The CMF Phone features the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 at its core. Even though it might not have the highest benchmark scores, it performs flawlessly even during gaming.

software

The CMF Phone 1 runs Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14. It has no third-party apps and very few pre-installed apps. The software experience is clean and the company promises 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security patches.

battery

The 5,000mAh battery of the CMF Phone 1 is well-optimized as it lasts for more than 15 hours in the PC Mark battery test. Even during gaming, the battery drain matches devices with larger batteries.

charging

The CMF Phone 1 supports 33W charging, which takes 63 minutes to charge the device from 20% to 100%. However, the charger needs to be purchases separately and it costs Rs 799.

Verdict

Starting at Rs 15,999, the CMF Phone 1 shines in terms of performance, software, and design in the segment. While the cameras aren't the best in the segment, if you're after a well balanced device, the CMF Phone 1 is worth considering.
