iQOO Z9 5G Review in 10 Points

design

The iQOO Z9 5G features a flat back panel with a brushed pattern design, matte finish that helps avoid smudges and a flat frame with chamfered edges. It weighs 188 grams which sits right in its segment.

display

The iQOO Z9 5G boasts a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display is bright under direct sunlight, thanks to the 1,800 nits peak brightness, and also offers good viewing angles.

Rear Camera

The iQOO Z9 5G has a 50MP+2MP dual rear camera setup. Photos shot in daylight have good dynamic range and accurate colour reproduction. Even the portrait mode photos have good edge detection.

front Camera

The iQOO Z9 5G has a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calling. It captures the skin tones accurately while maintaining a good amount of sharpness and balancing the exposure levels.

Performance

The iQOO Z9 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimesnity 7200 SoC, making it among the most powerful phones in its segment. The handset scores exceptionally well in benchmarks and can handle daily tasks as well gaming without any stutters.

software

The iQOO Z9 5G runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It has a lot of pre-installed apps and some of them can be uninstalled. Sadly, the company is only promising two years of software updates which is not on par with the competition.

Battery

The iQOO Z9 5G features a 5,000mAh battery. It scores around 15 hours and 40 minutes in the PC Mark battery test. The handset can get you an entire day's battery life on medium to heavy usage.

charging

The iQOO Z9 5G supports 44W charging and the charger is provided in the box. It takes more than an hour to charge from 0-100 percent which is decent in this segment.

Verdict

The iQOO Z9 5G has excellent performance, an attractive display, all day battery life and fast charging. Even the cameras are pretty good. The software support isn't the best, but if you're looking for the best performer in this segment, the iQOO Z9 5G does not disappoint.
