Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Review in 10 Points

design

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G features a matte finish plastic back that helps prevent smudges. The phone's curved edges and 180 grams weight offer a comfortable in-hand feel. It has three camera rings aligned vertically at the top left corner.

display

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness. It has vibrant colour output that looks pleasing from every angle even though it might not be the sharpest or the brightest display in this segment.

rear camera

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G has a 50MP+8MP+2MP triple rear camera setup. In daylighting conditions, the main camera captures images with ample details and good exposure. While the colour accuracy might not be on point, images look pleasing to the eyes.

front camera

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G features a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calling. It captures images with a good amount of facial details and while the colours are slightly warm, the final output remains true to reality.

performance

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. It scores well in benchmarks and we didn't encounter any freezing or crashing issue either. It might not be the snappiest phone in this segment but can handle daily tasks as well as gaming at moderate settings.

software

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G runs on OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14. It comes with pre-installed apps but these can be uninstalled. The overall UI is clean and user friendly. Also, the device will get 4 major OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

battery

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G houses a 5,000mAh battery. It scored 12 hours 58 minutes on the PC Mark battery test and also lost only 5% battery during our YouTube playback test. These results indicate that the battery should last at least a day with moderate usage.

charging

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G supports 45W charging, however, the charger is not provided in the box and will set you back Rs 3,000. With the official charger, it takes around an hour to fully charge the device.

verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G starts at Rs 26,999. It has a vibrant display, good cameras, reliable battery life and extended software support. That said, other devices offer better performance and also a charger in the box.
