StuffCool ChargePlug review

Intro

The aptly-named ChargePlug from StuffCool is a universal plug that features a bult-in 20W GaN charger. And as I found out, it's an extremely handy device to have in the house. Simple yet effective, it's a convenient way to charge your phone and a few accessories simultaneously.

Price & Unboxing

Listed at Rs 999 at the time of writing, the ChargePlug comes in a signature StuffCool packaging. Apart from the device, the box has some documentation and a warranty card, but no charging cables are included.

Design

Clad in a white outer shell, the ChargePlug features a universal 3-pin socket at the front and a trio of standard pins that fit into Indian power outlets. At the front, you'll also find a couple of Type-C ports and a single Type-A port. Weighing about 110 g, it's lightweight, and while it's not exactly tiny, it can work for travel use.

Features

The universal socket supports up to 10A appliances and accepts all types of plugs, regardless of the country or region they come from. The two Type-C PD ports output up to 20W, while the Type-A QC port offers up to 18W of power.

USAGE

Promising to convert any Indian plug into a global power hub, the ChargePlug is ideal for bedside use for charging your phone and accessories like TWS buds, smartwatch, etc. You could also use it next to your work desk to connect your laptop's charger while using the USB ports to juice up accessories and your phone.

Usage CONTD.

The Type-C ports can easily handle iPhones, Pixel phones, Samsung devices etc, but in case you have a phone that supports superfast charging, you can use your own charger and plug it into the universal socket on the ChargePlug.

Performance

20W isn't a lot of power in this day and age, but it's still more than sufficient for most premium smartphones like iPhones and those from Google and Samsung. I charged an iPhone 16 to 50% levels in just about 35 minutes, and in any case, the universal socket can accept any other phone or laptop charger you might want to use.

Verdict

Rs 999 isn't a lot of money to pay for something that takes the pain out of charging multiple devices and make things to convenient. I wish it was a bit smaller, and came with a few cables, but the StuffCool Charger is sure a handy device to have around, especially if you find yourself hunting for vacant sockets to power your accessories.
