if you're a party animal, chances are, you'd have heard of this specialised category of devices call party speakers. These are typically large, all-in-one speaker systems that pack in lots of power, offer a bunch of connectivity options, and in many cases, are portable too. The Ubon HT-1550 is one such device, and carries an MRP of Rs 29,999.
The tower speaker comes in black & is quite large, measuring 76 x 37 x 38cm, but not too heavy to move around. The front has a large mesh grille, with funky RGB lighting. There's a small LED display above the grille. On top is a control panel, along with a carry handle towards the back. A pair of wireless mics & a small remote controller is included in the box, along with a power adapter to charge the rechargeable battery.
The Ubon speaker offers a bunch of features & connectivity options. The sound output is rated at 70W, and includes 2 8-inch woofers as well. For connectivity, you get Bluetooth 5. Other input options include a USB port, aux-in and FM radio. Apart from the two wireless mics included, there are two mic inputs, plus a guitar input as well.
The backlit control panel on top has a massive volume knob in the middle, mimicking a DJ console, You also get a mode button, keys to adjust bass & treble, a USB port, & sockets for aux-in, 2 mic inputs, a guitar input, DC-in for the power adapter and an on/off switch. You also get a record button & a key that cycles between various patterns & colours for the RGB lighting system.
The battery life isn't its strongest suite, & to be fair, the large speaker and the funky lighting does consume a lot power. The speaker gets quite loud, with some distortion at higher volume levels. That said, the deep bass and funky lighting does help create a party atmosphere. The device can easily power a house party, and possibly annoy a few neighbours too if you don't keep the volume levels down.
The Ubon HT-1550 speaker is priced at Rs 29,999, but you can get it for Rs 17,999 from the brand's website. If you're into karaoke, you'd appreciate the wireless mics, while the RGB lighting is fun too. The feature set and connectivity options are ample, and the sound quality is decent, but battery life isn't that great.
