WhatsApp companion devices support

WABetaInfo has spotted a feature that will allow users to link multiple smartphones to their WhatsApp account and automatically sync the chat history on the companion device. The latest WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.22.15.13, has been revealed to contain evidence of this functionality.

The feature is under testing in beta and suggests that companion device support may someday be added to WhatsApp. Currently, WhatsApp allows you to access WhatsApp on four devices: a desktop, computer, laptop, and smartphone. Sadly, there is no method to activate the companion device feature on WhatsApp beta at the moment. The feature is still in development and may take a few weeks/ months before rolling out for all.

The companion device support isn’t a new feature. Telegram has had it for years. The online messaging platform can be used on multiple smartphones with the same account simultaneously.
