“The feature will be available in the next stable Google Play update”
WhatsApp has just released a new beta update for Android bringing it up to version 2.19.18 and with it a few new features. The new Show in chat shortcut feature is now officially live and will be available in the next stable release as well. Although iOS already has it, the tool is quite useful as it allows users to quickly see a media directly in chat.
Apart from this, the beta version also seems to have enabled Stickers search but according to WABetaInfo this is actually a bug. They tweeted yesterday saying “if you open WhatsApp the first time and the last used tab is “Stickers”, the button will appear but it will disappear if you switch the tab.” The publication claimed to have tried this trick on versions 2.19.18 and 2.19.6 Business.
The Facebook owned messaging platform has been in news quite a lot lately. The app broke down a couple of days back on Tuesday affecting almost 1.5 billion users across the globe. According to reports both Android and iOS users were unable to access the app on the day. This development came after WhatsApp announced that going ahead users won’t be able to forward a message to more than 5 people at once. This forward limiting feature, which is aimed at curbing rumours and panic was rolled out for Indian users last year and has now been rolled out globally.
