“Aimed at small and medium business, the messaging tool was first launched on Android last year”
Over a year after its launch, WhatsApp Business has finally made its way to iOS – but only as a beta version. The free-to-download app by WhatsApp is designed to suit the needs of small businesses, who can communicate with their audiences in a more effective manner. It comes with tools for automation, sorting, and quick replies; of course, it looks and works just like the consumer version of WhatsApp. Users can choose to continue their existing phone number for the business profile or set it up afresh with a new number. Android has had the official app for a while now, but going forward iPhone users will also be able to make use of it. This was first spotted by WABetaInfo.
Messaging tools on WhatsApp Business such as automated greeting and away messages, quick replies, and the Recipients feature. The last one allows users to choose specific recipients for a particular message and is aimed at helping small and medium businesses grow without the need of too much external help. Some of the other WhatsApp Business features are the ability to set business profiles, amend business hours, and to analyse key statistics so that you know how many messages were successfully sent, delivered, and read.
According to the company’s announcement last month, WhatsApp Business has an active user base of more than 5 million people, which is quite substantial considering its recent release. As to when the final version will be out on iOS, WhatsApp hasn’t said anything yet.
