WhatsApp increases group member limit from 100 to 256

Earlier this month, the popular messaging app WhatsApp announced that it had crossed one billion active monthly users. The brand recently dropped its yearly subscription, and said that it was testing tools to allow businesses to communicate with their customers. Now WhatsApp has just rolled out a new update, which extends the group member limit from 100 to 256.

The move comes right after Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to help businesses communicate better using WhatsApp. The extended group user limit hints that a larger update to bring the aforementioned features might be in the offing.
