WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature for its messaging app, which will make it easy for users to add stickers into conversations. WABetainfo has discovered hints to this feature, and also provided a preview of how it would work. The feature will offer text-based sticker suggestions in a corner of the chat bar.
When you type in a word, WhatsApp will quickly search for stickers that match the word. If it does find stickers related to what you typed, you will then a sticker suggestion on the chat bar. The right side of the chat bar will flash a sticker icon, indicating that a sticker has been found. You can then tap on the suggestion and choose a sticker to add to the conversation.
Now, according to the finding, this feature will work with official sticker packs that are already available in WhatsApp. However, the company could allow third-party sticker support in the long run. Developers of sticker packs would have to add support for this new feature by themselves.
