John Wick (2014)
Directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick is the first movie in the popular franchise that sees Keanu Reeves as the titular character. The plot revolves around retired hitman John Wick who is out for revenge for the death of his beloved dog, which was given to him by his recently deceased wife. The movie was a massive hit that it spurred several more sequels, with the fourth film releasing this month in India and internationally.

John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
Sequel to the superhit 2014 John Wick, Chapter 2 carries forward the story from the first. It is set shortly after the first movie as John Wick looks to retire again from his job as a hitman. But fate has something else in mind for him, as we see him get involved with Italian crime lord Santino D’Antonio, to whom Wick had previously made an oath. In order to fulfill the oath, John must carry out an assassination in Rome, but it isn’t as easy as it seems as he faces some of the best assassins in the business. A big success at the box office, the second installment introduces rival hitman Common to counter John Wick.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019)
Following the tradition in the series, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum picks up right after the events of Chapter 2. It shows Wick on the run after his debacle with the Italian assassins. The word “Parabellum” in the title means “If you want peace, prepare for war” in Italian, which essentially refers to the plot of John Wick having to fight for his life among deadly assassins that he is faced with. This movie is bigger than the earlier ones as it shows Wick traveling to different locations in search of help and information on how to hit back at the mafia. Action is superbly high-octane in this film, with Keanu Reeves at his best.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
John Wick: Chapter 4 is the sequel to Parabellum and the fourth installment in the franchise. The movie follows John Wick eager to exact his revenge on The High Table. The trailers released show some familiar faces returning, such as Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick (who recently passed away). There are also some new faces with Donnie Yen and Bill Skarsgård making their entry into the franchise. With Donnie Yen, you can expect some high-octane martial arts sequences in Chapter 4. John Wick: Chapter 4 is also expected to release on Lionsgate Play following its theatrical run.
