Xiaomi has finally launched the much-awaited 11T Pro mid-range flagship in India. This phone comes equipped with the Snapdragon 888 SoC and super-fast 120W charging technology. It’s an excellent buy for anyone looking for a powerful flagship-level smartphone that won’t rip a whole in the pocket. The Xiaomi 11T Pro is a direct competitor to the recently launched OnePlus 9RT. Therefore, we’ve decided to compare the two smartphones and see which one is a better value for money. Let’s take a look.

Starting off with the price, the freshly launched Xiaomi 11T Pro price in India is Rs 39,999 for the base variant, which comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. If you’d like 256GB of storage, then that will cost you Rs 41,999. There’s also a variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, which is priced at Rs 43,999.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 9RT is a tad bit expensive with prices starting at Rs 42,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. The 12GB/256GB model will cost you Rs 46,999. 

Already, the Xiaomi 11T Pro seems like a better deal as it’s cheaper than the OnePlus 9RT. Now, let’s explore what the phones have to offer in terms of specifications and features.

Design

In the design department, both the Xiaomi 11T Pro and OnePlus 9RT look premium and stylish. Both smartphones feature an aluminium frame and glass back. The former features Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, whereas the latter uses the older Gorilla Glass 5. 

The phones feature slim bezels, punch-hole cutout displays, and smooth rear panels. The Xiaomi 11T Pro has both power and volume buttons on the right side. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9RT gets the volume buttons on the left and the power button on the right. The OnePlus also gets its famous alert slider on the right side. 

Processor, storage, and RAM

Both Xiaomi and OnePlus have equipped their mid-range flagships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The chipset is paired with a maximum of 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB storage on both devices.

As you can see, both smartphones are pretty well matched in the processor, RAM, and storage departments. Xiaomi offers three different RAM+storage variants, whereas you only get two options with the OnePlus 9RT. Both smartphones get fast UFS 3.1 flash storage that enables speedy performance. 

Display

The Xiaomi 11T Pro comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display offering FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch response, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support. The panel houses a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, which is placed at the top centre. 

OnePlus 9RT

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9RT also a similarly sized 6.62-inch E4 AMOLED panel, which also offers 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and FHD+ resolution. However, the display supports 100 percent DCI-P3, over 600Hz touch response rate, Reading Mode, and Night Mode. It also offers the much-appreciated Always-on mode. The phone features a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner for the front camera, and also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner. 

Cameras

The Xiaomi 11T Pro is equipped with an impressive set of rear cameras. It gets a primary 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor, an 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra-wide Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 5-megapixel telemacro unit. The smartphone features several photography modes such as a Night mode, 108MP mode, long exposure mode, and more. It can shoot HDR10+ videos at 8K resolution. On the front, the Xiaomi 11T Pro gets a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.

Coming to the OnePlus 9RT, it too features a triple rear camera setup. The phone gets a primary 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 123-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro unit. The phone can record videos at a maximum 4K resolution, and in DOL-HDR mode. It gets features such as macro mode, night mode, scene enhancement, focus tracking, dual-view, long exposure, Ultra-Res, and Time-lapse. It also gets a 16-megapixel sensor in the front for selfies and videos. 

Connectivity

Both smartphones offer similar connectivity options, which include, 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Xiaomi 11T Pro also features an Infrared port. They both offer stereo speakers, but the 11T Pro’s speakers are tuned by Harman Kardon. 

Battery

Finally, let’s take a look at the battery capacities and charging speeds offered by the two phones. The Xiaomi 11T Pro features a 5,000mAh battery and supports the 120W Hypercharge technology. This enables a full charge from 0 to 100 percent in just 17 minutes, which is incredible. 

The OnePlus 9RT, on the other hand, houses a smaller 4,500mAh battery and offers 65W fast charging support. It’s not nearly as fast as the Xiaomi phone, but can still fully charge your phone in 29 minutes, according to OnePlus.

If you’ve come so far, then you’ve probably realised that the Xiaomi 11T Pro is a better smartphone among the two on paper. It is cheaper than the OnePlus 9RT, has better rear cameras, and packs a larger battery with a whopping, industry-leading 120W fast charging support. In other aspects such as display and performance, you shouldn’t find much difference between the two devices. The OnePlus software will probably be a bit better, but that’s about it. If you want an excellent mid-range flagship, you should probably pick the Xiaomi 11T Pro.
