Xiaomi might introduce the Xiaomi 12 on December 12th, according to a piece of fresh information from the Chinese publication MyDrivers. The date appears to be ideal for the debut event, given that it coincides with the model number and the Chinese shopping holiday that takes place around mid-December. Xiaomi 12 is also slated to be the first smartphone to have Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Soc. On November 30th, the new CPU is anticipated to be unveiled at the Qualcomm Tech Summit.
Xiaomi 12 series specifications (expected)
The Xiaomi 12 is said to sport a curved screen with a minimal punch hole at the centre for the selfie camera. It could further come with a Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. Further, the smartphone will possibly have a 50MP primary camera. The handset could also come with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Another highlighting feature of the smartphone could be the support for 120W fast charging, with the charger expected to come with the box.
We can also expect, the Xiaomi 12X to also be announced at the same event. The smartphone, like its predecessor the Xiaomi 11X, will reportedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The smartphone is also expected to be a compact smartphone, with a 6.28-inch FHD+Super AMOLED display and support for a fast 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of optics, the smartphone will come with a 50MP primary camera, along with a 20MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Its battery capacity is still unknown, but the device could come with 67W fast charging support.

Both the smartphones could come with MIUI 13 out of the box, with the OS expected to be unveiled at the same event in China.
