Xiaomi 12 to be launched on December 28th
The Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone will be launched on December 28th as announced by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and will also share the stage with the new MIUI 13. The announcements made via a Weibo post also included a deliberation over the challenges Xiaomi has faced in the recent past as well as the future scope and prospects of the company.
“How to achieve ‘faster and more stable’ is the big question we are trying to solve. The question is difficult, but if you have a clear idea, you will be able to find the answer. During this year, Xiaomi’s friends cared about us very much and gave us a lot of opinions. Please rest assured, I have seen everyone’s opinions, and our team is indeed earnestly improving. ‘Fast, more stable’, and the upcoming Xiaomi 12 and MIUI 13, are our answers to everyone.”
Xiaomi 12: specifications (rumoured)
The Xiaomi 12 lineup will get three models – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12 will be the vanilla entry point into the Xiaomi 12 lineup and will feature a 6.2-inch curved display, with a punch-hole cutout for the front camera at the top. The device is likely to pack in a 4,500mAh battery capable of 67W fast charging and will measure 8.6mm in thickness.
The Xiaomi 12X has been tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset from Qualcomm and will feature a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The most expensive model, the Xiaomi 12 Pro, is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, get a 120Hz AMOLED display, 5x telephoto camera, a 50MP Samsung GN5 main camera sensor, a bigger battery with 120W fast charging, and a larger QHD display.
