The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro share a similar design. They have a punch-hole cutout on the centre to accommodate the selfie snapper and narrow bezels. While the regular Xiaomi 12 has a flat screen on the front, the Pro model is slightly curved to the edges. The bottom bezel beneath the screen is also slim. The volume rocker and power button are on the right spine. There’s nothing on the left edge. The frame seems to be made out of metal.

On the back, you can see the triple camera layout arranged in a rectangular module. The primary 50MP sensor has a large cutout, while the other two are regular sized lenses. There’s Xiaomi and 5G branding on the back. While the images don’t show, the Type-C port, primary microphone, and speaker grille should be present on the bottom. They seem to have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. 

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro come in Black, Blue and Purple colour options.

Xiaomi 12 sports a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, centre-positioned punch-hole cutout, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and HDR10+. The flagship is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. It packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. The handset runs Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 custom skin out of the box.

As for the cameras, the Xiaomi 12 has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123-degree FoV, and a 5MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It has a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.

The device houses a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging support. There is support for a 50W wireless second charge. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, infrared sensor, dual speakers, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos, and Harman Kardon tuning.

Xiaomi 12 Pro has a large 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, centre-positioned punch-hole cutout, 480Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1500 nits brightness, 8,000,000:1 (Min) contrast ratio, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Like the Xiaomi 12, the 12 Pro also gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU coupled with Adreno GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB of internal storage.

The handset packs a 4,600mAh battery with a 120W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 12 based MIUI 13 custom skin out of the box. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, dual speakers, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos, and Harman Kardon tuning.
