Xiaomi is working on the upcoming Xiaomi 12 smartphone and it has been a subject of constant speculation. It now seems that the new Xiaomi 12 has been reimagined based on the data from a recent design patent that belongs to Xiaomi. LetsGoDigital has released digital renders of what the Xiaomi 12 smartphone could look like. This device render has been doing rounds in the market. The buzz around the Xiaomi 12’s design render fetched Wang Teng, Product Director at Xiaomi’s comment, “Can’t stand it, it’s too ugly”. This is the first response from an executive at Xiaomi and keeps the actual design philosophy a secret.
The new design renders have been deduced to be renders of a protective film for the Xiaomi 12 and have surfaced on Weibo. The image clearly shows off the curved edge display and a centre-aligned hole-punch cut-out at the top. The Xiaomi 12 will also likely use ceramic at the back which will lend the device a premium feel.
Xiaomi 12 expected specifications
The upcoming Xiaomi 12 is expected to get a new LTPO display panel that will allow an adaptive screen refresh rate. The device will run on the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset from Qualcomm, which is rumoured to be manufactured using the 4nm process. The Xiaomi 12 will also come with a battery capacity of 5,000mAh. The device might be restricted to 50W of charging via a wireless charger. It is also expected that the Xiaomi 12 will exceed charging speeds of 120W which will break previous charging records. This high-speed charging system will fetch you a full charge within 20 minutes.

The design on the Xiaomi 12 will likely be similar to Xiaomi Civi and will look and feel premium. The back panel will be made of ceramic, a material that Xiaomi has used on devices earlier and should look good. The rumoured 50MP main camera on the Xiaomi 12 and will offer an ultra-large bottom solution that will allow shooting 1920fps slow-motion videos. The main camera is likely to be accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The main camera will be optically stabilised.
