The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has surprised us again by outperforming Apple’s latest iPhone 13 Pro Max, this time in the Genshin Impact gaming test. Earlier this week, a Chinese reviewer shared the 3DMark Wildlife Stress Test benchmark, and the SoT (screen-on-time) endurance test which revealed that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra lasted a bit longer than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

However, as previously mentioned, it’s important to note that the reviewer did the Genshin Impact gaming test performed on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max in China with Chinese models, OS, and applications, and the results of the same can be different for the global models.

The Genshin impact gaming test performed on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro Max shared(via) by a Chinese reviewer – Golden Reviewer, reveals that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra was maintaining 57.7FPS on average compared to 49.2FPS of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This means that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 outperforms Apple’s A15 chip in Genshin impact. Not quite yet!

The reviewer also revealed the iPad Mini 6’s – powered by the A15 chip – Genshin Impact gaming test performance, and this time the device gets 59.6FPS on average compared to 57.7FPS of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Another thing to notice is that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s average temperature while gaming was 42.3 degrees celsius compared to 44 degrees celsius of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini 6 was a bit cooler with 41.1 degrees celsius than the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

However, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra needed 5.5W power on average compared to the 4.4W power required on the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 6.3W energy for the iPad Mini 6. The highest power-hungry handset on the list was the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, with a 7W power requirement and delivered 42FPS on average. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was also the warmest phone, with 46.5 degrees Celcius.
