Xiaomi India managing director Manu Kumar Jain last year said the company plans to enter new categories such as water purifiers, laptops, and washing machines in 2019. While it did launch the Mi Water Purifier in 2019, the Windows-powered Mi Notebook (review) was delayed to 2020. The former has been priced at Rs 11,999 in the country, while the Mi Notebook comes with a sticker price starting at Rs 41,999.
With the smart washing machine and refrigerator, the company is eyeing a bigger share of India’s home appliances market. Xiaomi may use its aggressive price strategy to take on the likes of some of the major players in the segment, including Samsung. We’ll update the story when we have more details about the products, so stay tuned for that!
