- Xiaomi India is gearing up to launch a new tablet in India.
- The dedicated microsite on the Xiaomi India website has a count down for April 1st at 12 PM IST.
- The tablet could be a brand new model but there are chances it’s the Mi Pad 5 variant.
Xiaomi India just launched the Redmi Note 11 and Note 11 Pro series in India and expanded its wearable market with the announcement of the Redmi Watch 2 Lite. Beyond phones, the company has smart TVs, accessories, lifestyle products, and much more up its sleeves. While it tested its luck in the tablet with the Mi Pad years ago, the brand hasn’t brought a successor or a follow-up model to the country since the reception wasn’t all that good. However, after years of strategic silence, Xiaomi has officially teased a new tablet device for India. Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter and announced the same.
The official tweet from the top executive said, “Mi Fans, we’re gearing up to make your wish come true. Always Believe in the power of making dreams come true. #KeepTabsOnUs in the power of making dreams come true. #KeepTabsOnUs.” There’s also a dedicated microsite on the Xiaomi India website but it only has a countdown for April 1st at 12 PM IST. Whether this is the launch date or just a timeline to reveal more details is something that needs to be seen.
While the tablet device could be a brand new model, there are chances it could be the recently launched Mi Pad 5 (unless it is an April fool’s joke). It should be interesting to see Xiaomi taking on Realme, which already has Realme Pad in India and is apparently readying the Realme Pad Mini’s launch in the Philippines.
