“The Mi 8 Youth will reportedly rock the Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage”
Earlier this year, Xiaomi introduced the Mi 8 (first impression), Mi 8 SE (in pictures), and Mi 8 Explorer Edition in its home market in China. The brand is all set to launch another smartphone in the series dubbed the Mi 8 Youth, which is slated to go live on September 19th. Now, ahead of the announcement, alleged hands-on images of the handset have been spotted on China’s social networking platform, Weibo.
The Mi 8 Youth images reveal that the device will come with the same model number as spotted on TENAA certification website — M1808D2TG. The About Phone section further mentions that the smartphone features 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage and MIUI 10 OS running on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. At the design front, the Mi 8 Youth can be seen toting a notch display and a dual-camera setup at the top right corner along with a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
No other specifications were leaked, but IT station, who posted the images on Weibo, claims that the Mi 8 Youth could rock the Snapdragon 660 processor. It contradicts the earlier report, which said that the handset would feature the Snapdragon 710 chipset. Furthermore, there could be another variant of the handset that will ship with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. As for the pricing, it’s reported to be RMB 1,299 (~ Rs 13,700) for the base variant and RMB 1,799 (~ Rs 19,000) for the top-end model.
Considering the launch is just around the corner, we won’t have to wait for long to see what exactly the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth brings to the table.
