“The Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Fingerprint Scanner Edition are speculated to be powered by Snapdragon 710 and 845 SoC, respectively”
At this year’s Annual Product Launch Event, Xiaomi launched its Mi 8 (first impression), Mi 8 SE (in pictures) and Mi 8 Explorer Edition. While these smartphones are yet to go on sale, the brand allegedly has three more Mi 8 series smartphones in works including the recently leaked Mi 8X. Now, according to the latest report, the brand is also slated to launch Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Fingerprint scanner in China soon.
According to the leak, the Mi 8 Youth will come in three configurations – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The smartphone will be offered in Space Grey, Gold and Blue colourways. The Mi 8 Fingerprint Scanner Edition will feature 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB options. The smartphone will come in two hues Black and Gold. Further, as the name suggests, the Screen Fingerprint Edition will come with an under-display fingerprint scanner just like Mi 8 Explorer Edition. If the speculations are to be believed, the Youth and Screen Fingerprint Scanner Edition will share spec sheets with Mi 8 SE and Mi 8, respectively. However, we suggest taking this bit of information with a pinch of salt.
As for the Mi 8X, the handset was seen sporting a glossy finish at the back and dual cameras in a vertically-stacked arrangement. The smartphone was spotted in white and blue colourways. Coming to the spec sheet, the Mi 8X is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, which is the same chipset powering the Mi 8 SE. Further, the Mi 8X is tipped to feature and under-display fingerprint as well. The handset is said to be fuelled by a 3,100mAh battery. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the upcoming smartphone at the moment.
The Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition are expected to launch in China this month. However, there is no word on the pricing.
