“The Mi 9 is expected to have a 24W or a 32W fast charge support for its 3,500mAh battery”
Xiaomi is one of the biggest success stories out of China, with a plethora of launches and unveils in its pipeline, the most recent one being the Redmi Note 7. In fact, it has been so popular that it sold out in just around 8.5 minutes in its first sale. However, the heart of the matter is that the upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi 9 will have a better fast charging technology.
While promoting the Redmi Note 7 via a Weibo post, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun answered a question pertaining to the Mi 9. Responding to a fan who asked whether the upcoming flagship phone will support 24W fast-charging, Jun responded to it saying the handset will charge faster than the Redmi Note 7.
Now, the Redmi Note 7 comes with an 18W fast charging support. While the CEO just mentioned that it would be better than the new Redmi model, there is no confirmation whether it would support 24W or 32W fast charging. According to a recent rumour, the Mi 9 will support 32W fast-charging, which we can expect from a flagship-class phone in 2019.
Other Mi 9 specifications leaked so far include a 6.4-inch full HD+ display with aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a waterdrop notch. It is also said to have an in-display fingerprint scanner, likely of the optical type. Though much of the configuration has not been revealed as on now, it is confirmed that the Mi 9 won’t be having the X50 LTE model for the 5G connectivity. It is expected to be priced around RMB 2,999 (approximately INR 31,500) for the 6GB RAM variant.
