Pretty much everything about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 has either been leaked or confirmed now. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun in an interview with brand ambassador Wang Yuan revealed that the phone will indeed use the Snapdragon 855 processor. There have been several rumours and reports stating that the phone would use this chipset, so this is not too big a surprise. The Snapdragon 855 is the latest processor from Qualcomm and is built using a 7nm fabrication process. This makes it much more powerful and efficient than the previous generation Snapdragon 845 chipset.

Coming to other specifications of the device, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is said to feature a 6.4-inch full-HD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The Snapdragon 855 chipset will be equipped with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone has also been confirmed to feature 27W fast charging technology and will reportedly use a 3,500mAh battery.

In the camera department, the phone will feature three cameras at the back. The primary sensor will be a 48-megapixel Sony unit, which will obviously take super high resolution photos. Xiaomi co-founder Wang Chuan recently posted some photos taken with the Mi 9 and they look great. The other two sensors will be a super-wide angle and depth unit. That’s all we know for now, but we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

Both Xiaomi and Samsung are holding their launch events on the same day, so we are not sure how things are going to go on that day. Which phone are you looking forward to the most?
