Another variant of Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition with an 8GB RAM and internal storage of 256GB is expected to arrive later this month. The combination of the variant was in demand since the announcement of the smartphone in February. The standard version of the Transparent Edition comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition is the top-end variant in Mi 9 series. It brings a transparent black panel at the back that gives a look into the inside of the device. Also, it has the support for 40W fast charging while the base model, Mi 9 supports up to 20W. And finally, it sports an improved rear camera with 7P lens and f/1.47 aperture.
In terms of RAM and storage, the Mi 9 is offered in two configurations – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB, while the Transparent Edition comes with 12GB RAM/256GB storage. In a reply on Weibo, Xiaomi product director Wang Teng Thomas said that there will be another version with an 8GB RAM.
The rest of the specifications of the Mi 9 Transparent Edition are the same as the standard model. It features a 6.39-inch AMOLED display having the support of 1,080 X 2,340 pixels resolution. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass v6 panel and comes with narrow bezels and a small notch. Like the Mi 9, the Transparent Edition will also sport a fifth-generation under-display fingerprint scanner.
In terms of hardware, it is powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and for the graphics, there will be an Adreno 640 GPU. The device boots the latest MIUI 10 custom interface based on the Android v9.0 Pie out of the box. The capacity of the battery will be 3,300mAh.
No official pricing details are available yet, but speculations suggest that the Mi 9 Transparent Edition 8GB+256GB version will come with a price tag of CNY 3,599 (around Rs 37,490).
