The Mi A1 is an Android One smartphone with dual 12MP rear cameras
Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone called theMi A1(review) in India in September this year. The phone arrived in a single variant, which is priced at Rs 14,999. Now, Flipkart, one of the sales partners for the device, has announced that it will be dropping the Mi A1s price by Rs 2,000 for a limited period. During the e-commerce giants Big Shopping Days sale, the Xiaomi Mi A1 will be available at a reduced price tag of Rs 12,999 from December 7th to December 9th.
For the uninitiated, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is a budget dual camera-toting smartphone that boots stock Android Nougat. The phone will be getting major Android software updates for the next two years. The Android Oreo update for the device will be released later this month, with a promised update to Android P when its announced. The handset comes bundled with free unlimited high-quality storage on Google Photos.
As for the other specs, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a metal unibody design with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The device comes with a beefy 4GB of RAM, Adreno 506 graphics and 64GB of storage, further expandable up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, Infrared sensor and A-GPS.
The Xiaomi MI A1 flaunts two 12-megapixel primary shooters at the rear one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens. The phone gets a dual-LED flash at the rear, portrait mode, background blur mode, optical zoom and more. For selfies, the device is equipped with a 5-megapixel snapper. A 3,080mAh battery completes the list of the specifications. The phone is being offered in black, gold and rose gold hues.
