Xiaomi launched its second Android One smartphone – Mi A2 (review) in India earlier this year. The handset was an instant success in the country much like its predecessor – the Mi A1 (review), owing to the stock Android operating system and a loaded spec sheet. The brand assured that the latest launch will get the Android Pie update before year end and it seems to be right on schedule. Xiaomi Mi A2 beta users have started receiving the beta update of the Android 9.0 Pie, hinting that the public rollout is imminent.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Android 9.0 Pie update details
The beta users of the Xiaomi Mi A2 have already started receiving the Android Pie update for the handset along with the November security patch. The version number of the latest update is version 10 (10.0.1). Being a beta update, the new software will only be available for a select number of users who are registered on the Mi A2 Beta programme. The update brings a number of new features onboard, like Adaptive Battery, renewed filled-in navigation and the new navigation gestures. That being said, the update is not available through OTA at the moment and one needs to manually flash it. However, the Beta Program users will receive the update through OTA soon.

The processor is further backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. For imaging, the smartphone offers a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 20-megapixel secondary shooter on the rear panel. And for selfies, you get a 20-megapixel camera on the front with dedicated soft LED flash.The handset comes powered by a 3,010mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+. Out of the box, the Xiaomi Mi A2 boots stock Android 8.1 Oreo and gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
As for the pricing, the Xiaomi Mi A2 can be picked from offline stores for Rs 17,499. Notably, the handset will set you back by Rs 16,999 if purchased online.
