“Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e smartphones are expected to come with triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor, and run on Android 9.0 Pie”
Xiaomi’s colourful and creative ‘CC’ series is scheduled to go official on July 2nd (i.e. tomorrow). It is already confirmed that the brand would be launching two mid-range handsets, called Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. Recently, the specifications of both the smartphones and renders of the Mi CC9 leaked, revealing almost everything that is there to know. Now, ahead of tomorrow’s launch, official cases of the CC9 and CC9e in various colours surfaced online. These transparent cases reiterate the design that we’ve already come across and suggest that the phones might arrive in a plethora of colours.
Furthermore, the cases seem to have enough room to accommodate triple rear cameras along with an LED flash. Since there is no cutout for a fingerprint sensor, we believe it should be embedded in the display. There is cutout for a 3.5mm audio jack at the top, while the volume rockers and power button rest on the right spine. The USB Type-C port and speaker grills could be placed on the bottom, as expected. These official transparent cases will be available in White, Blue, Pink, Purple, Green, Red, and Gray colour options.
Separately, a live image of the Xiaomi CC9 smartphone leaked online. While this only shows the rear panel with Meitu branding, it does confirm the handset will have a glass finish and “48MP AI camera” is etched below the LED flash. As for the specifications, the Mi CC9 and CC9e are said to pack a 6.39-inch and 6.08-inch displays, respectively. The former is expected to get Snapdragon 730, while the latter is rumoured to ship with Snapdragon 710/712 SoC. Both the handsets should boot Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. With the launch just a few hours away, we should know more details soon.
