Xiaomi’s much-awaited, brand new Mi CC series smartphones have finally been unveiled at an event in the brand’s home market of China. The brand has launched two handsets in the series that are simply called the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. Both the phones have arrived as mid-range offerings with in-display fingerprint sensors, ‘Dot’ notch above the screen, minimal bezels on the sides, and metal and glass sandwich design for a premium appeal. Notably, the Mi CC9e is the first smartphone to utilise Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 665 processor; its sibling uses the Snapdragon 710 SoC.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e price
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 price has been set at RMB 1,799 (~Rs 18,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant in China. The higher-end 6GB and 128GB model is being offered for RMB 1,999 (~Rs 20,000). Coming to the Mi CC9e price, the phone will be available starting at RMB 1,299 (~Rs 13,000) for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB options of the device will set you back by RMB 1,399 (~Rs 14,000) and RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,999), respectively. Both the handsets come in White Lover, Dark Prince, and Blue Planet gradient colour options.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 series specifications
Starting with the Xiaomi Mi CC9, the handset ships with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC, aided by 6GB of RAM and Game Turbo 2.0. The storage on board is 128GB, which can be further expanded up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. The handset features a glass sandwich design with a 6.39-inch sAMOLED display with full HD resolution and 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and a small notch on top that houses the selfie camera. A 4,030mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support keeps the smartphone running.
In the camera department, the Mi CC9 features a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with HDR support for Mimoji stickers. The triple camera setup on the back includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary snapper, and a third 2MP shooter. The AI-powered cameras are capable of recording slow-mo videos at 960fps. Other features include NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and high-res audio.
The Mi CC9e smartphone, on the other hand, sports a slightly smaller 6.08-inch AMOLED display with HD+ resolution and 88.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. This one also features an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and Dot notch to house the front camera. The Snapdragon 665 SoC onboard is accompanied by up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The handset’s camera specs and battery capacity are the same as the Mi CC9.
