- Xiaomi is yet to reveal the exact launch date or the name of the product
- The teaser suggests the launch of the Mi Laptop in India
Xiaomi India seems to be gearing up to unveil the Mi Notebook lineup in India, as the company’s India CEO, Manu Kumar Jain has teased the same on Twitter. The short video posted by the Xiaomi executive shows him typing on a laptop and ends with him saying ‘It’s Time’, which could be suggesting the launch maybe around the block. Though we get a glimpse of the Notebook, it’s hard to make out the exact model just yet. Though the RedmiBook laptops were speculated to launch in the country first, that doesn’t seem to be the case as the hashtag #WhatsNextFromMi suggests it will be a Mi-branded laptop.
The launch of Mi laptop lineup in India is in line with a report from April that also speculated the launch of both Mi and Redmi laptops. Now that e-commerce platforms have started delivering non-essentials and brands have resumed product launches, Xiaomi seems to be ready with its laptop lineup. Unfortunately, we still don’t know which models would be launching in India, but if we were to speculate, it could the Mi Notebook Air 13.3 or Mi Notebook 15.6 2019 notebooks that were launched last year in China. This will be the beginning of a new product category for Xiaomi in the country, one that fans have been eagerly waiting for.
To recall, the Mi Notebook Air 13.3 (2019) ships with the 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. It sports a 13.3-inch full HD display and also features improved AKG speakers with Dolby surround sound and a metal fan for cooling. Ports on board include USB Type-C port, a single HDMI port and USB 3.0 port, and 3.5 mm audio jack. The Mi Notebook 15.6 (2019) gets a bigger 15.6-inch full HD display, up to Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce MX110 GPU, 8GB RAM, up to 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD storage. Both models are already available in China.
