Leaked Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S live images and render suggest a repositioned camera and more

Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Mix series flagship, the Mi Mix 2S, has seen its fair share of leaks ahead of the official launch in China later this month. Even the brand itself has confirmed a couple of features that will be seen on the next Mi Mix offering through official teasers. Just today, the company released a new teaser, and has almost confirmed that the phone will boast wireless charging. Now, a tipster on Weibo has posted a couple of alleged live images, a press render, and few other features that might be offered by the Mi Mix 2S.

The design on the Mi Mix 2S in the latest leaked images is a notably different than what we’ve seen so far in other leaks. The new live images show that the display on the Mi Mix 2S is surrounded by super-slim bezels. However, the bottom bezel seems to be slightly thicker, but still much slimmer than the earlier Mi Mix smartphones. On the top chin, there appears to be a speaker. The images that leaked earlier suggested that the handset will feature a small notch on the top right corner for the selfie camera, which isn’t visible in the latest leak.

From what we can make out, the selfie camera of the Mi Mix 2S is placed in the middle of the bottom bezel. Considering that the bottom bezel is extremely slim, it seems impressive that the company has managed to fit the front camera sensor in such a small real estate.  Furthermore, the source mentions that the Mix 2S will sport a aspect ratio of 19:9, which is different from its predecessors.

Moving on, the alleged press render of the Mi Mix 2S gives us a clear picture of the design of the device. The phone seems to sport a horizontally-placed dual camera setup at the rear, aided by an LED flash. The source claims that the AI-powered dual camera of the flagship supports slow-motion recording at 960fps. The render doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor either on the back or front of the device. This suggests that the flagship could boast an under-display fingerprint sensor. 

Just like other leaks, currently there’s no way to confirm the authenticity of the aforementioned information, so we would like to advise you to take it all with a pinch of salt. We will have official details on the design and features of the Mi Mix 2 on March 27th, which is when the handset will be officially unveiled in China.
