Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s alleged teaser shows no chin, official launch date to be September 15

“The Mi Mix 3 may ditch chin to give way for higher screen-to-body ratio and pop-up selfie camera”

Xioami‘s next offering, which could be the Mi Mix 3 smartphone, will reportedly launch on September 15th. The handset’s major highlight is going to be the end-to-end display and staggering screen-to-body ratio. According to the phone’s teaser image shared by AndroidPure, the Mi Mix 3 will be nothing like its predecessor – the Mi Mix 2 (review), which comes with a chin that also houses the selfie camera.

For this year’s Mi Mix phone, Xiaomi could go Vivo and OPPO’s way to offer a truly bezel-less design. The display on the front seems to share extremely thin bezels on the sides as well as the bottom. The top edge of the phone is not visible in the leaked image, but it is likely to be the same as the other Mi Mix lineup phones, which is no bezel. Hence, it is safe to presume that the Mi Mix 3 could come with a pop-up or retractable front camera as seen on OPPO’s Find X (first impression) and Vivo’s Nex (review) devices.

There are very little details of the Mi Mix 3 on the specs front; however, previous leaks suggest that the phone could employ an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is possible to presume that the Mi Mix 3 will come with Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood. A recent price leak of the smartphone suggests that it’ll come with four different configurations and feature in two models – Standard and Ceramic.

The Mi Mix 3’s base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is rumoured to cost RMB 3,399 yuan (~ around Rs 35,000) going all the way up to RMB 5,299 (~ around Rs 53,000) for the top variant with Ceramic finish, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

That’s all for now, but we will be posting more information on Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 as and when it comes. So stay tuned to 91mobiles.
