“Xiaomi could launch the Mi Note 3 phablet alongside the Mi Mix 2”
Last October, Xiaomi surprised everyone by unveiling a futuristic, nearly bezel-free smartphone dubbed the Mi Mix. The phone was a commercial success for the phone with most of its early stock quickly vanishing from stores in China. The company is all set to unveil the successor to the device called the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 on September 11th in China. Ahead of the unveiling, Xiaomi’s President Bin Lin has hinted at the launch of one more smartphone at the event.
Lin didn’t reveal anything about the other device that will be unveiled at the event alongside the Mi Mix 2. If speculations are to be believed, the brand could unveil the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 at the event, since its predecessor was unveiled last year alongside the Mi Mix. According to the reports, the phone will offer a Samsung-made Super AMOLED display featuring QHD resolution. The device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, mated to up to 8GB of RAM.
Lin has also confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature a ‘Face Unlock’ feature, which was already revealed earlier by the rumour mill. It’s not confirmed where the facial recognition sensor will be placed as the device is expected to come a tri bezel-free display with a narrow bottom bezel, where the front camera will be located.
In addition, Lin also shared a teaser video for the Mi Mix 2. It’s hard to spot the exact design of the smartphone because of the way the video is shot. As for the specs, it’s confirmed that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device is expected to come with a 6.2-inch QHD display, Android Oreo, 6GB or 8GB of RAM variants, 128GB and 256GB storage models, a 20MP rear camera and a 4,500mAh battery.
