Just when we thought Xiaomi was taking a break from shock-value pricing, it went ahead and
launched the
Mi Pad – a 7.9-inch Android slate with (nearly) 2K resolution, a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 SoC, a 6,700mAh battery and 8MP/5MP cameras, all for the sum of Rs 12,999. With those specs and that price, the Mi Pad virtually obliterated the competition, and that was evident in how fast it sold out on Flipkart, even without the usual flash sale model in place.
