Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 with up to 45W charging support goes official

Xiaomi has refreshed its Mi Power Bank-series with the launch of Mi Power Bank 3 in China. The accessory comes clad in a plastic unibody design with a textured matte finish all around the stealth black surface. The power bank comes with three charging ports with support for up to 45W for quick charging. It is said to support a number of devices, including Apple’s MacBook Pro through its Type-C port.

Xiaomi has priced the Mi Power Bank 3 at RMB 199 (~Rs 2,000) in China. As stated above, it comes in just one colour options: Black. The power bank goes for sale in the country from January 11th onwards. There is no word about the availability in India yet.

Coming to the specifications of Mi Power Bank 3, it boasts of 20,000mAh lithium polymer battery on the inside; however, it actually offers 13,000mAh support due to the heat dissipation and various other losses involved with a power bank. The three ports on the accessory can charge up to three devices simultaneously.

Xiaomi has added two USB-A ports that support 5V at 2.4A or 9V at 2A or 12V at 1.5A in output when using just one port and 5V at 3A when using both. The third device can be charged through USB Type-C port that supports 45W fast charging, which is among the fastest in the industry. OPPO still enjoys an upper hand here with its SuperVOOC Pikachu themed power bank that offers 50W charging.

The Type-C port on the Mi Power Bank 3 also comes with two-way fast charging that means it can charge at the same rate (45W) with supported power adapter. Xiaomi claims that its power bank with the tech can be charged fully in about 4.5 hours and with a standard 10W adapter in about 11 hours.
