“The 50-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4A model was announced in China in January last year”
Xiaomi is a relatively new entrant in the smart TV space in India and the company usually announces new models in the country after it introduces them in China. Currently, the Mi TV 4A series has five variants (including Pro models) in India and the company is reportedly planning to “soon” announce a new Mi TV 4A series 50-inch model soon in India. This particular model isn’t a new variant and was announced back in January last year.
The Mi TV 4A series is a low-end series as compared to the other two – Mi TV 4 Pro and Mi TV 4X Pro lineups currently offered in the country. However, Xiaomi may label the new TV as a Mi TV 4A Pro instead of Mi TV 4A. With regards to specifications, the 50-inch screen has a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel 4K Ultra HD resolution panel with 178-degree wide viewing angles, 60Hz refresh rate, and a contrast ratio of 5000:1. The 50-inch TV also supports HDR10+ HLG, which isn’t on the current 32-inch and 43-inch Mi TV 4A models in India.
The TV will run Xiaomi’s custom PatchWall user-interface which comes with pre-loaded on all Xiaomi TVs. On the inside, the TV has a 64-bit Amlogic L962 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. In terms of port selection, the Mi TV 4A 50-inch model has 1x HDMI, 2x USB, 1x Ethernet, 1x A/V, and 1x S/PDIF options. The Bluetooth remote control comes with the familiar dedicated voice recognition button that’s also on other TVs.
At launch, the Mi TV 4A 50-inch was priced CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs 23,800). For now, the exact launch date of the TV is not known but it should be announced soon in the coming weeks.
