MIUI 12 officially confirmed by Xiaomi, launching later this year

MIUI 12 will be coming later this year and Xiaomi has officially confirmed its developments with a logo posted on Xiaomi’s MIUI Weibo page. The company did not reveal and MIUI 12 features or an exact date for its release. Currently, MIUI 11 is Xiami’s latest custom OS that brings tons of new changes, including an enhanced dark mode, new font, more lighter UI elements, natural alarms and notification sounds, customisable Always-on-display and more.

MIUI custom skin was debuted back in 2010 and this year marks its 10th anniversary. We’re expecting that Xiaomi would bring something unique to compliment the milestone. It recently confirmed that MIUI 12 would bring a global system-wide dark mode to a few third-party apps. To recall, back in October 2019, Xiaomi’s executive, Xu Jieyun, General Manager of Public Relations confirmed that the company had already started working on the new MIUI 12 OS.

Talking about some MIUI 11 features, the Xiaomi OS brings new ambient always-on display feature with new animations and the ability to place custom text on the always-on display. There are also new Mi-Go and Mi Work productive apps included with extreme-power saving mode that is claimed to offer 24 hours of standby time ith just 5 percent battery, currency converter, one-tap purchases (in China) and more. There are new Mi file sharing option, screencasting and wireless printing. It also introduced a new dynamic font scaling feature that adjusts the boldness of the text based on the content displayed on the phone. This week, Xiaomi started rolling out MIUI 11 update to Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Mi MIX 3, Mi 9 SE and Mi 8 SE in China.
