Xiaomi has launched the MIX Fold 2 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro alongside the Redmi K50 Ultra. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is the company’s latest foldable and is a successor to the previous Fold. It measures just 5.4mm thick when unfolded, which makes it the slimmest foldable on the market. It features Xiaomi-developed Micro Waterdrop Hinge that is claimed to be durable and it has just 87 components. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has an ultra-narrow side key capacitive fingerprint sensor from Goodix.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro is the company’s latest tablet that ships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, a 2.5K IPS LCD display, a 10,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging, and a large 12.4-inch screen with Dolby Vision.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro price
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is priced at RMB 8,999 (approx Rs 106,300) for 12GB + 256GB, RMB 9,999 (around Rs 118,055) for 12GB + 512GB and RMB 11,999 (approx Rs 141,700). for the 12GB + 1TB model. It is available to order starting today and will be on sale in China from August 16th.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is priced at RMB 2,999 (around Rs 35,400) for the 6GB + 128GB model, RMB 3,499 (approx Rs 41,300) for the 8GB + 256GB and RMB 4,199 (approx Rs 41,300) for the 12GB + 512GB. The Xiaomi keyboard type protective case costs RMB 469 (Rs 5,530 approx) and the Xiaomi Inspiration Stylus is priced at RMB 349 (around Rs 4,200). The tablet will also be on sale from August 16th.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a 6.56-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED E5 cover display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 2520 x 1080 pixels resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is an 8.02-inch 2K+ Eco2 OLED display with a 4:3.55 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and up to 1400nits brightness.
The foldable is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on MIUI 13-based Android 12L out of the box. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, Hi-Res audio, Dolby Atmos, and dual speakers. The MiX Fold 2 weighs 262 grams. There is a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
Moving to cameras, the MIX Fold 2 has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with OIS support, f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, a 13MP ultra-wide snapper with 123-degree FoV, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. There is a 20MP selfie shooter on the front.
Fold 2 design: As for the design, the Fold 2 features a Micro Waterdrop Hinge that Xiaomi has developed. It has various cutting-edge technologies and the number of components is just 87. The hinge measures just 8.8mm in thickness compared to other foldables on the market. The company says the weight has been reduced by 35 percent and the internal space utilisation rate is about 20 percent higher than that of most foldable mobile phones.
Xiaomi has added a one-piece carbon fibre floating plate at the hinge to eliminate the crease on the screen. When the phone is opened, it lifts the flexible panel and the outer UTG glass for a flatter finish.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro sports a 12.4-inch 2.5K IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 500nits brightness, 2560 X 1600 pixels resolution, HDR10, Dolby Vision, DCI-P3 colour gamut, MEMC, TUV Rheinland certification, Sunscreen 3.0, and Ambient colour temperature sensor.
The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on MIUI 13-based Android 12 OS out of the box.
