Xiaomi was back in the tablet segment in 2021 with the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 5 series which included two models: the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. Now, the brand appears to be working on the Pad 6 series, if we were to consider the reports by Xiaomiui. References to two upcoming tablets with codenames pipa and liuqin were found in the MIUI codes. The publication then claims that Pipa and Liuqin will debut as the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, respectively.

The report further shares some key specifications of the tablets, including the chipset. The Xiaomi Pad 6 is claimed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which is based on 7nm fabrication. This is the same chipset found on tablets from OPPO, Vivo, and Lenovo.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 on the Xiaomi Pad 6 is a huge step up from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 on the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. The report further claims that Xiaomi Pad 6 has model number M82 and will debut in China, India and global markets as well. The vanilla Xiaomi Pad 6 is tipped to feature a 120Hz refresh rate display.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 6 Pro is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which should make the tablet the fastest out there. The tablet could have a 120Hz AMOLED display with 1880 × 2880 pixels resolution. This could be a major upgrade over the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro which had an IPS LCD display. Xiaomi might compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is tipped to feature a quad-speaker setup and dual cameras on the back, with a depth sensor. The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro has the model number M81 and will be exclusively launched in China, according to Xiaomiui.
