Xiaomi is tipped to be working on a phone with 144Hz LCD display and MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC, according to noted tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo. The chipset supports dual-mode 5G connectivity, 5G + 5G dual-card dual standby and 5G dual-carrier aggregation technology. The MiraVision onboard brings chip-level image quality optimisation. Keeping with the current trend, Xiaomi seems to be testing a 144Hz high refresh rate LCD display. However, the placement of the phone in the company’s portfolio isn’t clear at the moment. Xiaomi could launch this as a gaming-centric smartphone. This is all we know about the mysterious phone at the moment.

Xiaomi’s standalone brand Redmi recently launched the Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro 5G in China. Both phones flaunt a 6.57-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 2,400×1,080p resolution, HDR 10+, 20:9 aspect ratio, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 60Hz refresh rate. They are notably the first set of phones to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G SoC. The mid-range 5G processor is coupled with Mali-G57 GPU, liquid cooling tech, and Mi Game Turbo 2.0 on the Redmi 10X series. The handsets run Android 10 with MIUI 12 custom skin on top that brings and there IP53 rating for water- and dust-resistance.

As for the cameras, the Redmi 10X Pro features quad-rear cameras at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 30x zoom, and a 5MP macro lens. The phone houses a 4,520mAh battery with 33W (22.5W on the vanilla Redmi 10X) fast charging support. As for the vanilla Redmi 10X, it has a triple rear-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and 2MP macro sensor.
