“The Redmi 6A is the latest budget offering from Xiaomi boasting a 5.45-inch, 18:9 display”
Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 lineup in India, with the Redmi 6A (first impressions) being the most affordable offering in the series. The successor to the Redmi 5A (review) comes with several incremental upgrades, including the full vision 18:9 aspect ratio display and the latest processor from MediaTek. The handset went on sale for the first time in the country on September 19th. Today, the company is hosting the latest sale of the smartphone in India. Today at 12 pm, the phone will be up for grabs on Amazon India and Mi.com.
To recap, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A sports a 5.45-inch display with HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2GHz Quad Core MediaTek A22 SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB storage options. For photography, there’s a single 13-megapixel shooter on the rear, backed by LED flash, and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling.
The Redmi 6A comes with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.6 custom skin running atop Android 8.1 Oreo. For security, the handset relies solely on face unlock as there’s no fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include dual-SIM capability, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. To keep the package running, the device employs a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 6A has been priced in India at Rs 5,999 for the base 16GB storage variant, and Rs 6,999 for the 32GB storage option. The handset comes in four hues — Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.
