“The Redmi 7 is expected to be a budget offering with MIUI 10”
Last month, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand introduced its first smartphone called the Redmi Note 7 as an independent entity. The company is all set to launch the handset in the Indian market later this month. Soon the brand is expected to unveil a couple of more devices including the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 soon. Ahead of the unveiling, the Redmi 7 was recently certified by EEC in Russia. Now, the upcoming smartphone has bagged approval from yet another regulatory authority.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7 has just been certified by the Federal Communications Commission in the US. The device has received certification under the model number M1810F6LG, which is in line with the earlier reports. The listing on FCC’s website has also revealed a few details regarding the features of the Redmi 7. The certification suggests that the phone’s display measures 15mm diagonally, which indicates that it could offer 5.90-inch display.
Furthermore, the FCC listing has suggested that the Xiaomi Redmi 7 will be released in three RAM and storage variants – 3GB + 32GB, 3GB + 64GB, and 4GB + 64GB. The handset will boot MIUI 10 out of the box, which is expected to be based on Android 9 Pie. The sketch of the device in the certification suggests that the Redmi 7 could offer only a single camera at the rear. Notably, the phone’s predecessor offered a dual camera setup at the back.
Unfortunately, the other specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 7 are not available at the moment. Also, as of now, it’s not clear when exactly the brand is planning to launch the smartphone.
