Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 gets stable MIUI 10 update in India

Xiaomi has finally started rolling out the stable version of MIUI 10 update for the Redmi Note 5 smartphone across the globe, including India. The latest firmware update for the handset is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The update is being rolled out over the air in phases, so not everyone will be getting it right away. However, users can download the MIUI 10 ROM from the brand’s website and manually upgrade their devices.

The latest firmware version for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM V10.0.2.0.OEGMIFH. Apart from bringing Android 8.1 Oreo version, the new update also comes with the security patch for August 2018. As for the update’s changelog, it brings full-screen gestures and a new user interface, which is tailored for full-screen devices. There’s a new natural sound system with ambient sounds and other improvements, including the updated versions of the Clock and Notes applications. The software also brings AI-powered portrait photography mode.

Notably, Xiaomi has already released the MIUI 10 update to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi MIX 2, Mi 5, and Redmi Y2 smartphones. The partial rollout for these handsets was kicked off on September 11th.
