“The Redmi Note 6 Pro will succeed the Redmi Note 5 Pro”
Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note 6 Pro has been incessantly leaked in the form of renders, popped up on certification sites, and was even revealed via a hands-on video (since deleted). Now, one can spot the successor of the Redmi Note 5 Pro (review) retailing at the popular e-tailer website, AliExpress. The unannounced Redmi Note 6 Pro is listed there with its complete specifications, price, colour variants and an option to either ‘Add to Cart’ or ‘Buy Now’.
While there’s no way for us to confirm the veracity of the specifications, they do fall in line with the previous leaks. As per the listing, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will come with a notch-toting display and dual cameras on both the front and back. The handset is said to feature the same Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 chipset as its predecessor, although some reports suggested the device will be utilising the Snapdragon 660 / 670 SoC. The chipset is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The device sports a 6.26-inch display with a slightly odd resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels for a 19:9 aspect ratio panel (it should have been 2,280 x 1,080 pixels).
For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is reported to feature 12MP + 5MP sensors on the rear and a pair of 20MP + 2MP selfie cameras. The handset boots Android Oreo-based MIUI 9 out of the box. A 4,000mAh battery rounds up the spec sheet. Lastly, the site lists the device as the global version that is said to support over 70 languages and comes with Google services and OTA updates.
AliExpress is selling the Redmi Note 6 Pro at €171/$200 (~ Rs 14,500). The handset is available to buy in four colour options of Black, Blue, Rose Gold and Red.
