“The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is a mid-range offering and the first from the brand to come with quad cameras”
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 6 Pro India launch date is November 22nd, hours after it sent media invites for the same. Launched as the successor to Redmi Note 5 Pro (review), the new Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with the same Snapdragon 636 processor and 4,000mAh battery but sports four cameras. There were tons of speculations regarding the India launch of the handset including an event teaser and a leak revealing the Indian variants, as well as the colour options. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be up for grabs in the brand’s first-ever Black Friday sale in India.
The image used in the media invite is pretty suggestive of what to expect at the upcoming event, but the brand has confirmed the Redmi Note 6 Pro India launch plans nonetheless. This is the first of the three announcement Xiaomi will be making over the next week; the second revelation will be made tomorrow afternoon and the last one early next week. Getting back to the invite image, the text on the image reads, ‘THE NEW NOTE RISES’ with a circular constellation resembling a camera sensor with number ‘6’ in the middle. We can also see the silhouette of the top portion of a smartphone display with a notch. The picture couldn’t be more indicative of what’s coming.

Separately, Xiaomi has announced that it will be hosting its first-ever Black Friday sale in the Indian market on November 26th and that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be available as part of the extravaganza. The Black Friday sale originated in the US and is held on the Friday before Thanksgiving; retailers give huge discounts on popular gadgets as part of the sale. However, it is unlikely Xiaomi will be offering any discounts on a newly launched smartphone. Xiaomi is yet to announce what other Black Friday deals will be on offer during the sale.
To recap on the specifications of the handset, the Redmi Note 6 Pro ships with a 6.24-inch full HD+ display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC at its core. A recent leak has revealed that the smartphone will be launched in two configurations in India – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB. In the imaging department, the smartphone has 20MP + 2MP setup on the front and 12MP + 5MP combination at the rear. The phone boots MIUI 9.6 based on Android Oreo out of the box and is powered by a beefy 4,000mAh battery. Basically the Redmi Note 6 Pro is a Redmi Note 5 Pro with dual front cameras and a display notch.
As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the upcoming smartphone in India. We will bring you more accurate details on November 22nd, if indeed the brand is planning to launch Redmi Note 6 Pro on that day.
