“The Redmi Note 7S is expected to be the rebranded version of Chinese Redmi Note 7 variant with 48-megapixel primary sensor”
Xiaomi is all set to launch its new Redmi Note 7S smartphone on May 20th in India. Ahead of the release, the handset has been listed on e-commerce platform Flipkart with a ‘Notify Me’ button. Users can click on the button to get updates related to the launch, availability, pricing, offer, and other details. The page reiterates the Redmi Note 7S’ 48-megapixel dual camera and the “exceptional detail” it can capture with every shot. The page also touts the handset’s battery life, performance, design, and quality.
The Redmi Note 7S handset is expected to be a rebranded version of Redmi Note 7 variant with 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel primary camera that was launched in China earlier this year. For those unaware, the Indian version of the Redmi Note 7 features 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel primary camera.
If that turns out to be true, the rest of the specifications of Redmi Note 7S are going to be the same the standard model. It’ll be powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 3GB/ 4GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB user-expandable storage. The handset will boot Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box and house a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. The phone is likely to feature a 6.3-inch ‘Dot Notch’ display with full-HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer for protection.
The Redmi Note 7S could have a 13-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options may include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR Blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C, and GPS. Notably, these are mere speculations and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
